Title Insurance Outsourcing and Liability

At HDEP, one of the questions we hear a lot from prospective customers is, “What are the liabilities associated with outsourcing?”

The video below addresses this question and goes over three points you need to consider to determine whether using a title outsourcing firm will work for you. To summarize, here are the three points from HDEP’s Operations Manager and Real Estate Attorney, Joie Yuen:

  1. 1. Quality is central. For HDEP, this means we have multiple quality control checkpoints in place to ensure a high level of quality on a consistent basis. To further ensure accuracy, we have our customers perform a level of quality control as well.
  1. 2. Local/State Requirements. Each state is somewhat different and successful outsourcing therefore requires knowledge of geographic variances. At HDEP, we have worked across 70% of the US market during our 30 years of experience in the title industry.
  1. 3. Factors associated with cost. Again, because every state is different, you need to take into consideration whether you need to pay E&O insurance or get a higher premium on it. This will come down to your comfort levels as a customer. At HDEP, we work as an extension of your company and learn your rules and procedures in and out, so our customer satisfaction level is very high.
